|Prof Mpine Makoe is the Head of the Institute for Open Distance Learning at the University of South Africa (UNISA). She is also the director of African Council for Distance Education (ACDE). Mpine has published extensively in Open Distance Learning, mobile learning, staff development, quality and policy formulation in ODeL. She holds a PhD and an MSc in Educational Technology from the Open University, UK. She also has an MA in Journalism from the University of Michigan and BA in Communication and English (cum laude) from Hope College in Michigan.|
Dr. Heroldt Vekaama Murangi currently holds the position of Director at the Namibian College of Open Learning (NAMCOL). He is a teacher by profession, from 1992 to 1997 he worked in the Ministry of Education as the Inspector for Continuing and Distance Education programmes in the country’s various political regions. He started working for NAMCOL since 1998 in various capacities, first as Regional Manager and later as Deputy Director before appointed as Director in 2007. Murangi completed his Higher Education Diploma and B.Ed. Honours at the University of Namibia, M.Ed. in Adult Education at the University of Massachusetts, USA. Recently in 2017, he obtained his PhD in Education Management, Law and Policy Studies at the University of Pretoria, South Africa.His interests and experience include the development of human resources policies and strategic plans. Over the years, Murangi has been a key factor in initiating partnership agreements with some national, regional and international bodies, especially in the area of Open and Distance Learning. Under his leadership, NAMCOL received an award of Excellence for Institutional Achievement from the Commonwealth of Learning in London, UK.
